Anna & Lucio's Legacy
Our History…..I’m truly honored to carry-on the legacy that my parents have made. Since I was 6yrs old I have grown up in the restaurant business. From my mother teaching me the importance of fresh food, to my father teaching me the importance of the quality of the food. These two amazing entrepreneurs risked everything to make their dreams come true. I’m excited and honoured to share with you the legacy.
Both my parents immigrated from a small town called Sartano, in Calabria, Italy. My mother Anna started her passion in cooking at a young age. Anna would pull a little stool and watch her mother cook on a little two burner gas stove. Lucio being the entertainment since he was young coming from a family of 8 siblings he was always a peoples person and he loved creating seafood dishes. Anna and Lucio, after married, started their family (myself and my two older brothers) they decided to open the doors to their first restaurant in Calgary Alberta which was called Sandro pizzeria, which took off being the number one pizzeria in Calgary, Alberta.
They then adventured into their next restaurant in Woodbridge which until today is one of the best Italian restaurants . Lucio whom enjoyed 11yrs with his transplant singing every Saturday at the restaurant and entertaining and greeting all the customers. Unfortunately Nonno Lucio passed away in 2020. It was then that I decided to continue the legacy and become an entrepreneur myself.My goal is to make sure every bite is like sitting at Nonna’s kitchen at home . From fresh ingredients like Nonna Anna said and top quality like Nonno Lucio said . I hope to bring a taste of Italy to all of you. Calabrese to be exact….
